Brief History
Stf. Steinløftet Foundation was founded in 2012 when the first International Sculpture Symposium was hosted in Eide. The Symposium was curated by the artist Torild Storvik Malmedal in collaboration with stone companies in Eide. The professional artists were invited from different countries worldwide to create sculptures in granite or local marble. This Symposium was the beginning of the Atlantic Art Road and Vevang Culture Park. We are proud of the artworks which are exhibited in the public places in the
Municipality of Hustadvika.
In the years to come our vision is to develop new projects in our coastal region, where Vevang Culture Park attracts landscape artists, sculptors and mixed-media artists from around the world.
We welcome ideas and collaboration.

IM Stenseth, founder of World Cllimate School
"The Atlantic RoadThe Atlantic Road stretches over 8274 meters. The road is described as the world's most beautiful car journey. Started in 1983, the road was finally opened in 1989. The construction was a major challenge and the workers experienced as many as 12 hurricanes during the builiding project. In 2005, the Atlantic Road, Atlanterhavsvegen, was named as the building of the 20th century."
"The Vevang Culture Park is created on the ruins of a Costal Fortress from 2nd World War. Today, a Sanctuary for the Arts and an expression of Culture of Peace.
It is a place for dialogue and storytelling for personal contemplation, and a playground for entertainment og sports.
The Culture Park at Vevang is part of the World Peace Garden Network, and in a silent way tells the story about forgiveness, healing and the commitments to build strong institutions for Peace, tolerance and human dignity. It is an art to work together. "
